I experienced the studio at The Art Experience for the first time yesterday. It had a very welcoming and peaceful atmosphere that I felt as I walked in the room. As I waited for Lindsey to get off the phone, I looked around at all of the art work, it was beautiful. I was amazed at some of the talent I saw. Lindsey asked if I'd like to help by painting treasure boxes that the program auctions off in their yearly fundraiser and I was happy to help. I'm always willing to create art so that was an unexpected surprise.
When I arrived, there were two women painting quietly. I was introduced and immediately felt welcomed by them, as we discussed how long we'd been painting and shared each other's artwork on our phones. I instantly felt I belonged and was introduced to more and more people as they came in and joined us around the large table. Although we all sat and painted quietly, all immersed in our own work, there was a comfort in the room that I felt and it was nice to just sit and create art together. I am excited to return and continue to meet more fellow artists.
Here are the treasure boxes I painted:
